The opposition parties have blocked the meeting of the House of Representatives demanding an answer from the Prime Minister. The meeting called for 11 am on Wednesday was delayed and the opposition parties protested at the beginning.
After that, Speaker Devraj Ghimire gave CPN (Maoist Center) MP Shakti Bahadur Basnet time to speak. MP Basnet said that the government was oblivious to the changing situation and in favor of interest groups and middlemen, removed the executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority.
Opposition parties CPN Maoist Center, Rashtriya Swatantra Party and Rashtriya Prajatantra Party protested in the House saying that Kulman Ghising was removed as the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority.
The government has removed Ghisingh as the executive director of the authority and appointed Hitendradev Shakya. The decision to remove Kulman Ghisingh, the executive director of the authority should be reversed, he demanded that the Prime Minister answer this matter.
As soon as MP Basnet finished his speech, the opposition MPs stood up again and protested. Speaker Ghimire has adjourned the House for 30 minutes amid protests.
In Wednesday's meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is on the agenda to present a proposal that 'the Constitutional Council (Works, Duties, Rights and Procedures) (First Amendment) Bill, 2079 originated in the National Assembly with the report of the State Order and Good Governance Committee should be discussed.
Similarly, the bill with the message received from the National Assembly regarding "Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081" will be tabled.
In the meeting, the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia is scheduled to present a proposal that originated in the National Assembly, "Nepal Legal Practitioners Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 should be considered".
