In February, 4,468 criminal cases were registered across the country. Among the cases of criminal incidents registered in February, the highest number of banking offenses was 1,127 (25.22 percent).
The Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya informed that the number of cases of banking offenses have been registered in Kathmandu Valley. According to him, there are many check bounce cases in banking offences. He said that recently, with the development of technology, the incidents of crimes caused by the misuse of social media are increasing.
1,127 cases have been registered in banking offences. Likewise Five hundred and 21 cases of crimes against public interest, health, safety, convenience and morality have been registered. Five hundred and one suicide-related crimes, four hundred and nineteen drug-related crimes, two hundred and eighty-six cases of theft, one hundred and sixty-eight cases of extortion, one hundred and sixty-two cases related to fraud, one hundred and fifty-four cases related to vehicular death, 71 cases related to killing industry and 42 cases related to duty-related death have been registered with the police.
Spokesperson Acharya said that 1,337 cases have been registered in Kathmandu Valley. According to the police, 715 criminal cases have been registered in Madhes province, 665 in Koshi province, 612 in Lumbini province, 376 in Bagmati, 279 in Sudurpaschim, 323 in Gandaki province and 161 in Karnali province.
