Former Prime Minister and President of NESP (New Power) Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that people are disappointed due to the vicious circle of corruption. In a press conference held in Janakpur on Saturday, he mentioned that the political parties from the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center) and the identityist movement are gradually getting tired and melting.

He claimed that the leading political option was a political party based on a federal democratic republic.

He pointed out the need for a directly elected executive system and claimed that there would be stability if such a system existed. He said that federalism could not be properly implemented because the necessary rules and laws related to federalism were not made on time.

Dr. Bhattarai added, 'Now the leadership of the old political parties is getting tired, fading, inactive and motionless. The alternative is a progressive political party based on a federal democratic republic. However, due to the absence of a directly elected executive system, stability could not be achieved. In addition, due to the fact that the necessary rules and laws of federalism were not made in time, the implementation could not be effective. Federalism with identity and rights remained incomplete.'

He commented that the organs of the state are stuck in the vicious circle of corruption due to lack of timely transformation of bureaucracy, court, and security organs. He said that this is the reason why people are speechless.

Dr. Bhattarai considered the current federalism to be insufficient and pointed out the need to take forward steps for reform.
