Barpak Sulikot and Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality have announced cash prizes to students who score best marks in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). Barpak Sulikot has announced to give Rs 1 lakh and Shahid Lakhan Rs 50,000 to students who get 4 GPA from municipal schools. Both municipalities will also give incentives to other students who get excellent results.
Barpak Sulikot has announced to give Rs 50,000 for 3.90 to 3.99 GPA, 25,000 for 3.80 to 3.89, 20,000 for 3.70 to 3.79 and 15,000 for 3.60 to 3.69 GPA. Bishnu Bhatt, Chairman of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality, informed that the executive meeting of last 25th January decided to give awards to the best students. "We have announced the award so that the students work hard and get encouragement," he said.
Bhatt informed that the award for improving the quality of education will be continued in the coming year as well. "We believe that the award will increase the morale of the students, they will study diligently," he said. 371 students from 10 schools of Barpak Sulikot, 298 for regular and 73 for grade enhancement, are participating in SEE.
Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality will also give 50,000 to those who get 4 GPA in class 12. Those who get 4 GPA in class 8 exam will get 10,000. According to Rajendra Khanal, head of the education branch of the rural municipality, 40,000 will be given to SEE and class 12 students who get 3.90 to 3.99 GPA and 8,000 to class 8 students.
Similarly, SEE and Class 12 students who get 3.80 to 3.89 GPA will get Rs 30,000 and Class 8 students will get Rs 6,000. The municipality has decided to award 20,000 rupees to SEE and Class 12 students who get 3.70 to 3.79 GPA and 4,000 rupees to Class 8 examinees and 10,000 rupees to SEE and Class 12 students who get 3.60 to 3.69 GPA and 2,000 rupees to Class 8 students.
According to the annual program of the municipality, Khanal informed that cash prizes were announced as student incentives. "Earlier only the program was held, the executive meeting revealed the amount," he said. For this program, the rural municipality budgeted two lakhs
is separated. 199 students from Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality are participating in this year's SEE. Similarly, 210 students are participating in the municipal level examination of class 8.

According to the Education Development and Coordination Unit, there are 916 people on the regular side of grade increase and 21 people on the technical side. 16 hearing impaired and 3 visually impaired students are also participating in SEE.
