In today's meeting of the National Assembly, MP Madan Kumari Shah (Garima) has presented a resolution proposal on 'Ending Menstruation Discrimination for Limited Menstruation'. She said that a proposal has been presented to amend the law as per the need to end the discrimination of menstruation.

Shah says that there is a need to end Chhaupadi system in areas including Karnali and Sudurpaschim. "Menstruation discrimination should be ended and it should be justified. "Respecting it from the point of view of human rights is decent menstruation," she said.

Parliamentarian Shah emphasized that it should not be viewed with hatred by effectively implementing the system of fundamental rights such as ending gender discrimination and ending untouchability. Existing laws should be amended. Mental health has been affected due to menstruation discrimination,' she said.

MP Shah insists on making menstruation easy and safe, prioritizing it in policy, finalizing the National Menstruation Policy 2074, and keeping the title of decent menstruation in the annual budget.

The resolution was supported by MPs Sumitra BC, Gangakumari Belbase, Vishnukumari Sapkota, Pooja Chaudhary and Anjan Shakya.
