Commander-in-Chief Ashokraj Sigdel has said that the Nepalese Army is always committed to fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities under any circumstances for the protection of the country's sovereignty, geographical integrity, independence, and national unity.
He made it clear that the Nepali Army is serious about protecting the national interest at the ex-servicemen's conference held at Sudurpaschim Pritna headquarters in Kailali on Thursday.
Mentioning that the contribution made by the army to strengthen national security has made the common Nepalese feel proud, Chief of Army Staff Sigdel said that due to its contribution to the overall development of the nation, the army has been established as a reliable organization among the Nepali people . 'This trust should never be broken,' he said .
At the call of the United Nations, the Nepali Army's contribution to the establishment of peace in various conflict-affected countries of the world is being praised at the national and international level, Chief of Army Staff General Sigdel said that this reflects the Nepali Army's sense of selfless service, responsibility and duty.
'The Bhupu conference is an important opportunity for military reunion as well as an opportunity to share experiences and broaden the cordiality and collective spirit between the serving and retired soldiers,' he said.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Nepali Army Welfare Board, Gaurav Tandul, informed the families of serving and retired soldiers that various welfare activities have been initiated for income generation.
Sudurpaschim President Prakash Deuja expressed his belief that the conference will help in enhancing the sense of unity at the general level. He requested Sakaldarja to get maximum benefits by using the various facilities provided under the welfare program. In the
ceremony, Commander-in-Chief Sigdel honored Balwan Khadka of Bajura and Prajapati Awasthi of Dadeldhura for sending four or more children to the army, and awarded Commander-in-Chief Commendation Mark to retired Suvedar Keshavadat Pandey . He honored senior ex-servicemen and single women, gave wheel cheer and Baisakhi, gave certificates and awards to small businessmen.
Conferences have been held today in Doti, Acham, Bajura, Bajhang, Baitadi, Dadeldhura and Darchula under Far West Region. According to the information given in the
conference, the number of people receiving health, education and other services from the Military Welfare Board has exceeded one million.
