In the House of Representatives, Congress MP Dr. Sunil Sharma has registered a proposal of public importance.

MP Sharma has registered a proposal of public importance titled 'National health insurance for all citizens and an effective arrangement including drug treatment fund for poor citizens'.

It is stated that the purpose of this proposal is to initiate a comprehensive health insurance scheme to ensure affordable and accessible health services for all citizens of Nepal. He said that this will include marginalized communities, those who are beyond the reach of health services and vulnerable communities.

It is mentioned in the proposal that a national health insurance scheme should be established, health insurance premiums should be subsidized for low-income families and vulnerable groups, partnerships should be made with private health service providers, health insurance service providers should be monitored and audited to make them transparent and accountable, and public awareness campaigns should be conducted about health diseases.

By passing this proposal, MP Sharma hopes to increase access to health services for all Nepalis and effectively cover the underserved, reduce treatment costs, and create a healthy population. He has mentioned that 'quality, agile service model will be developed by promoting the state-directed, uniform health treatment service by strengthening the system of public-private partnership to provide accessible and convenient health treatment to the common citizens.' MP Sharma has also asked for a discussion on this proposal in the parliament.
