The question has arisen as to where and how the dollars and Euros worth 25 million 19 lakh 24 thousand 950 rupees were recovered from Tokha in Kathmandu around 11 o'clock on Monday night. Some investigating officers of the police have said that despite the preliminary information that they were going to be sent to buy gold, the question of how much money was collected has not been answered.

Kusang Lama, who was released from Nakhkhu prison in December 2078 after being arrested for smuggling 7 kg of illegal gold 5 years ago, is the only person arrested in this incident. According to the police, four people including him were arrested in the previous incident. At that time, even though he was linked as a porter, it was not revealed who was the owner of that gold.  

The police have started the investigation from the angle that so many euros and dollars were collected from the Nepali market or brought from India as well. From the analysis of the received information, the police have come to the conclusion that so much foreign currency is going to be taken to buy gold.

According to the police, if Euros and dollars were deposited in Kathmandu, where and how were they deposited and who is involved in it? "Investigation has also been started from the angle of whether so much foreign currency was brought from India or the money got by selling illegal gold to Indian traders," said an officer involved in the investigation.

Euros and dollars worth more than 25 million rupees were recovered from inside the truck. The police received the information that the truck was kept in the garage near Swayambhoo for about 20 days and the false bottom was painted there.

In his initial statement with the police, Lama said that he had taken a truck to Thankot and was going to Rasuwagadhi to buy clothes as told by the traders. Although the truck arrested by the police is in the name of Lama's mother, he said that his brother bought it for him to drive.
