Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa has taken charge from this afternoon. With the reinstatement of the position, he has made it clear that peace and security of the country is his main priority.

According to the decision of the Council of Ministers on Monday, he was promoted to the said post and today Home Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi decorated him with a tailor's badge.

On that occasion, Home Secretary Duwadi congratulated Inspector General of Police Thapa for receiving the dignified post of head of a glorious organization and wished him a successful tenure. Wished for success. 

Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal, Chief Investigation Director of National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa, Additional Inspector General of Police, high-ranking officials of Ministry of Home Affairs, Deputy Inspector General of Police and media persons were present on the occasion. 

After assuming the post, Inspector General Thapa stated that his aim is to maintain peace, security and order in the country as well as the growth of the Nepal Police.

Before resuming the post, he paid tribute to the immortal police by placing a wreath at the Amar police memorial at the Nepal Police headquarters and planted neem saplings in the office premises.
