Nepal Police's Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deepak Thapa has been awarded the badge. On Tuesday morning, Home Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi presented the badge to Inspector General of Police Thapa during a ceremony at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The cabinet meeting held in Baluwatar on Monday appointed Thapa as Inspector General of Police . With the appointment, Thapa became the 31st IGP of Nepal Police. Speaking after receiving the badge, Inspector General Thapa said that he will try to establish the standard of the system without access. He promised to continue crime prevention and investigation without any excuses or alternatives. He said that he will take the initiative to strengthen the internal security of the country and ensure peace and rule of law among the citizens.  Speaking at the

program, Home Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi urged Nepali Police to work for the goal of happy Nepali and prosperous Nepal by maintaining peace, security, order, good governance and peace in the country. He expressed his belief that he will fulfill his responsibility sincerely and honestly. He said that it is the duty of everyone to maintain peace and order in such a way that the common citizens can feel it, as the issue of peace and security is not only a visible issue but also a matter of feeling. 

He said that the government is working to fulfill the expectations of the common citizens. He said that security challenges are also increasing when there is a negative perception towards the government. He said that it is necessary to reduce road accidents, to reduce the incidence of drug addiction, and to reduce the incidence of cyber crime.
