Dr. Tank Barakoti has been reinstated as Director General of Health Services Department. After receiving the letter from the Director General today, he reached the office and took charge.
Dr. Barakoti was working as Additional Secretary at the 12th level of the Ministry of Health. Earlier, Dr Vikas Devkota was the Director General.
After he was promoted to secretary, Dr. Barakoti was appointed to that post. Minister of Health and Population Pradeep Paudel appointed him as the director general by making a ministerial decision on February 27th.
After assuming office, Dr. Barakoti said that the role of the department in the health structure divided into three levels will be facilitated. He said, 'The department seems to be conflicted in the procurement process and I will try to improve it.'
Today, Dr. Raghuraj Kafle, who was appointed as the executive director of the Health Insurance Board, has also taken charge.
Dr Kafle expressed his commitment to contribute to making health insurance simple, accessible and quality. He said that the institutional capacity will be increased. Earlier, the Acting Executive Director was Dr. Saroj Sharma.
