Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri has said that climate change has seriously affected the people living in various geographical areas of Nepal.
Minister Shahi made this statement while giving a speech on behalf of Nepal at the 'Ministerial Roundtable on the Interrelationship of Water Security, Climate, Nature and Development' held in Britain on February 29. In the
program, Minister Shahi highlighted the initiatives taken by the Government of Nepal to face the life-death challenges of climate change in Nepal's ecosystem and livelihood.
On the occasion, he also informed about the Everest Dialogue 2025 that Nepal is going to organize. After the
event, the Minister also participated in the water and climate reception organized by the Royal British King Charles III.
Minister Shahi has arrived in Britain to participate in the program organized by the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Minister Shahi's Secretariat has informed that he is scheduled to return to Nepal in March.
The event was attended by ministers from various countries affected by climate change and water insecurity, climate change and nature experts, and representatives of various international organizations including the Global Commission on the Economics of Water.
