”Handcuffing migrants is a serious violation of human rights”

Human rights activists have said that handcuffing and nailing during the return of immigrants by the US is a serious violation of human rights. Human rights organizations have criticized the United States, a signatory of the International Convention on Human Rights, for torturing migrants, which is prohibited by law.

US President Donald Trump has started returning undocumented immigrants to their countries since his second term in office in January. The US military has been widely criticized for handcuffing and nailing migrants back home. The US returned eight Nepalis to Kathmandu on a chartered plane last Wednesday. Similarly, last month, the United States deported 104 Indians in handcuffs and nails like criminals.

Maoist MP Devendra Poudel also protested in the parliament on Thursday saying that the American government had committed excesses in returning Nepali citizens. A protest was held in front of the parliament building under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the main opposition party, Congress, demanding that this issue be raised in the Indian parliament as well.

"Handcuffing and handcuffing even while sitting inside the plane is torture," says Surya Dhungel, a member of the National Human Rights Commission, "The human rights law considers torturing anyone under any circumstances as punishable, America is committing atrocities against deported immigrants in Nepal and around the world."

International human rights organizations have also criticized the Trump administration. Amnesty International, a UK-based international human rights organization, has said that the violation of human rights laws by the Trump administration is continuing. "Handcuffing and nailing immigrants is a serious violation of human rights," Amnesty spokesperson Krishna Pillai said in the international media, "handcuffing and handcuffing anyone is not acceptable under any circumstances."

Human Rights Watch, another American human rights organization, has criticized the behavior of the Trump administration as humiliating. "The American government presents itself as the guardian of human rights, but such cruel, humiliating and torturous actions do not match the image and legal commitment of the United States," said Linda Garcia of Human Rights Watch, "Torturing anyone is a violation of human rights and is not compatible with the constitution of any country." Condemned. "The process of deportation is so cruel and humiliating that it not only violates the US Constitution, but also violates the human rights of ordinary people," the union said.
