Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that since regressive elements are starting to strengthen in the country, the transformative forces should unite.
In a program organized by the party at the central office of Aloknagar today, he said that it is the main responsibility of the people to protect the rights gained from the long struggle and the current system.
Emphasizing that the government should correct the working style and discourage the wrong trend, he said, 'Regressive status quoists have started raising their heads now. The party has taken this matter seriously.'
He said that the slogan processions that have been taking place in some cities of the country including Kathmandu Valley for some time now are not only attacking the government, but also democracy.
President Nepal expressed the opinion that attacks on democracy cannot be tolerated and urged the government to be serious in protecting the constitution, democracy as well as the federal republic. He said that since the Federal Democratic Republic was achieved through the sacrifices and struggles of the people, everyone should be united to protect it.
President Nepal emphasized that people should be careful as they are attacking federal democracy and that no one is allowed to violate the constitution.
