It is necessary to raise the issue of climate justice in international forums: President Paudel

President Ramchandra Paudel has said that for countries like Nepal, which have no role in climate change, it is necessary to raise the issue of climate justice in every international forum. Inaugurating the conference organized by the Geological Society today, he said that the issue of climate justice should be brought to the world.

He stressed that the issue of climate justice should be strongly raised in the context of developing and underdeveloped countries such as Nepal, which have no role in climate change due to indiscriminate industrialization, exploitation of fossil fuels, and carbon emissions in developed countries.

Mitigation of the effects of climate change, natural disasters and  President Paudel said that pressing issues such as management have increased the importance of the geological conference and pointed out the need for cooperation and collaboration at the national and international levels to address such sensitive issues that are directly related to human life.

President Paudel, mentioning the context of the unnatural increase in the temperature of the earth, expressed his concern that during this period of three decades, the glaciers of our mountains have reached the point of melting and bursting the glaciers, most of the mountains are in the process of being transformed into bare mountains, due to excessive rainfall, there is a huge loss of human wealth every year due to floods, landslides and drought.

He stated that the occasional earthquakes in the Himalayan mountain range are also a problem for the development of the Himalayan country of Nepal, and expressed the opinion that although some natural disasters can be predicted, the problem has been created due to the failure to invent mechanisms that can predict earthquakes.

President Paudel expressed his belief that the conference will discuss the status of Nepal's mines and mineral products, the state of exploration, climate change and its effects, and the use of geology in the development of physical infrastructure. He   also expressed his belief that the geological conference will be useful to attract the attention of investors for the extraction, utilization and market management of natural resources.
