Kathmandu Metropolitan City has fined 1 lakh rupees to RPP for littering and damaging the road structure.
The metropolis has cut the letter and fixed the fine on Sunday evening. In the letter, it has been mentioned that the persons participating in the program organized by the party office have caused physical damage to the roads, road boxes and islands and railings of the public areas including the airport, Tilganga, Gaushala, and garbage.
The city has mentioned in the letter that according to the Garbage Management Act, 2068, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Environment and Natural Resources Protection Act, 2077 and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Economic Act, 2051, a fine of one lakh has been imposed.
RPPA had sent workers to Tribhuvan International Airport, Tilganga, Gaushala area to welcome former King Gyanendra Shah on his return from Pokhara on Sunday. Former Raja Gyanendra came to Kathmandu on a chartered flight from Pokhara. Gyanendra had been in Pokhara for a few days when he reached Alamdevi in Syangja, which is the cool temple of the Shah dynasty. The traffic in Kathmandu valley was chaotic due to the crowd that had come out for the rally. Due to the crowd around the airport, security arrangements were tightened.
