The MP submitted a letter to propose to China for the Tiptala-Taplejung road construction

Member of the House of Representatives Yogesh Bhattarai has requested Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba to request the Chinese government to blacklist the road from Tiptala Bhanjyang on the Sino-Nepal border to Taplejung headquarters Fungling.

On Friday, Bhattarai, while submitting the attention letter, said that he requested the help of the Chinese government for the construction of 85 kilometers of roads and bridges from the border to the headquarters. Bhattarai went to Minister Rana with Engineer Kuvere Nepali, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure.

"On behalf of the Nepalese government, I have requested the Foreign Minister to initiate a formal discussion process with the Chinese government to seek the assistance of the Chinese government for the expansion of the 85 km road from the Taplejung district headquarters to Tiptala, the Tibetan border," Bhattarai said, "I have submitted the preliminary proposal of the cost estimate received from the Taplejung District Administration Office to the Minister."

Bhattarai also said that Minister Rana has expressed his commitment to take necessary initiatives.

Earlier, during the official talks between the two countries team led by Taplejung Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma and Dingje County Party Committee Secretary of China Tao Mingjun, Tao assured that China will pave the road to Fungling through Jituji. Chief District Officer Sharma provided necessary documents to the ministry and the district parliamentarians with the commitment of the Chinese representative's repeated proposals.

Sharma says that they have come through JTUZ to start the work immediately and China has repeatedly offered to pave the road and sent the same document to the departmental body. Under the leadership of Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Rawal, Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Naresh Maharjan, Chairman of Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Management Council Khagendra Fembo and other team went to Dingje County for a border meeting in the last week of November. This was the third border meeting held by the Chief District Officer of Taplejung with China.

Before the corona infection, the then chief district officer Dorendra Niraula and before that Devraj Dhakal went to Dingje for the border meeting. During Niraula's time, the head of Dingje County said that the road to Olangchungola would be paved and promised to allocate one billion rupees for that. At that time there was no offer of JTU. Sharma says that China has proposed to work from the federal government, which cannot be agreed at the local level.
