People's representatives should work with the people at the center: Speaker Deuba

Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that people's representatives should act as servants of the people. He said that serving the people is the most important duty and goal.

At the opening ceremony of the newly constructed administrative building of Manara Shiswa Municipality of Mahottari, Deuba said that the local level can create a large amount of local jobs by modernizing agriculture, tourism and other sectors by starting a skill-based training campaign for economic progress.

'From the promotion and marketing of local products, an economically prosperous city can be made by identifying innovative areas,' Deuba said, 'The city, state government and the central government should cooperate in the expansion of areas such as roads, electricity, drinking water, and irrigation.'

He said that the local level can be improved if the municipality makes more plans to make maximum use of fertile land, create local jobs, and expand the market for local products.

Since the local government works directly with the people, Deuba said that the assessment of the overall government will be based on the actions of the local government.

'The local government is the government that supports the people in every problem,' Deuba said, 'Mayor, deputy mayor, ward presidents should work with the people at the center. The new administrative building that has been inaugurated will help to make the services available to the residents of Manara Shiswa more convenient.

He said that with the new building, the service facilities available to the public will be more technology-friendly, efficient and convenient.
