Deepak Bahadur Singh, Chairman of the Infrastructure Development Committee under the House of Representatives, said that the Water Resources Bill will be submitted to the House soon.

He said that the Water Resources Bill, which is under discussion in the Infrastructure Development Committee, will be finalized and submitted to the House within two weeks at the workshop conference on 'Integrated River Basin Planning and Management for Effective Water Governance in Nepal' organized by the Secretariat of the Water and Energy Commission here on Thursday.

'We are going to finalize the water resources bill after discussing it with experts in this field, we will submit the bill to the House within two weeks,' he said.

Chairman Singh expressed concern that the valley's stone streams are drying up. Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Sarita Dawadi said that the government is working on the concept of integrated water resources as a top priority.

He said that the government is moving forward by establishing the River Basin Office for the protection and proper use of water resources. Secretary Dawadi said that water distribution is important in the federal structure.

Secretary of the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat Madhu Prasad Bhatuwal said that the government is working on the river basin plan as a top priority for the effective use of water resources which are the main resources of the country.

Commission is going to study the lower Bheri sub-basin of Karnali and the Roshi sub-basin of Bagmati for the proper use of water. In the event, Asian Development Bank Country Director Arnaud Koukoich and World Bank Country Director David Sislen said that the support and assistance of donor agencies will always be there for the protection and management of the water resources sector. In the

program, Balkrishna Prasai, president of Jalsrot Vikas Sanstha, said that due to climate change, the water crisis is getting worse, so we should move forward together to protect it.
