UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that the illusion that the king will come and save the country has been cultivated. He also says that those who misled the citizens brought this slogan.
Pokharel, who came on Thursday to inaugurate the UML's district-level workers' meeting in Baglung, said that people who have not read history sang the praises of the king. Pokharel said, "Those who lived in the time of the king and those who don't know about history want the king. Those who understand autocracy don't say that."
He has also criticized the Maoists. The Maoists, who were out of power, said that they opposed the UML and the Congress. He also commented that even those who have good work cannot be called good. "UML-Congress have come together to remove the necessity of changing the alliance many times and the Prime Minister having to take a vote of confidence," he said, "This is for stability."
He also remarked that the Maoists were having a headache when there was stability in the country.
