A Nepal Airlines Corporation flight carrying 149 passengers from Kathmandu to Dubai on Wednesday night was grounded after it broke down at Bhairahawa.
This ship is Nepal Air Corporation's Sagarmatha narrow body ship, which was brought from China 6 days ago after spending 66.8 million rupees through Five-C-check (repair).
It was scheduled to fly to Dubai via Bhairahawa from Tribhuvan International Airport at 10:30 pm on Wednesday. This plane landed at Bhairahawa at 11:30 pm. It was scheduled to fly to Dubai by adding passengers to Dubai from there.
However, the crew and the engineer on the ship grounded the plane at 1:00 pm saying that the plane would only be repaired and flown after seeing the problem (over speed protection) of the engine speeding up on the ship.
Since there are only 2 employees of the corporation in Bhairahawa, the employees of the immigration office and Bhairahawa airport office who had gone to their homes at night were called and the passengers were taken to various hotels there till 4 am according to the rules of taking them to the hotel. According to
Corporation sources, before taking off from Kathmandu, its fuel meter was changed and it was taken off about 2 hours late. The executive chairman of the corporation has gone to Delhi for treatment. As this is an in-service problem, we are talking to him about the repair,'' said one of the directors of the corporation. ’
