The country will be removed from the gray list as soon as possible: Deputy Prime Minister Paudel
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Paudel, while answering the questions raised in the discussion regarding the ordinance, claimed that there is no truth in the allegation that the role of the Planning Commission and the role of the Natural Resources and Finance Commission have been diminished. He expressed his belief that the country will be removed from the gray list as soon as possible.
'It is important to have an account of what was done in which period in which the country reached the state of gray list,' he said, 'now everyone participating in the government is closely monitoring, we will come out of the gray list by working within the prescribed amount. The government is working accordingly to bring the country back from the list. We will remove the country from the gray list before the two-year deadline.'
Presenting the notification that the ordinance should be rejected, MP Wagle claimed that the ordinance presented by the government is a policy and procedural error. He alleged that the government has presented the bill, which is currently under consideration in the parliamentary committee, as an ordinance, and that its process is weak and the dignity of the parliamentary committee has been ignored.
MP Wagle pointed out the need for the government to take concrete steps forward to make asset laundering effective, to make the work of public bodies result-oriented and to make the country's economy sustainable.
