Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has instructed the police officers to take the upcoming Independent Students Union (SVAU) elections seriously and conduct them in a peaceful atmosphere.
On Wednesday morning, the Home Minister Akbar directed the police chief Inspector General of Police Basant Bahadur Kunwar in the Ministry of Home Affairs to strengthen the necessary security arrangements to ensure that the elections to be held in various campuses of the country are conducted in a peaceful and fearless environment.
Similarly, the minister has also asked the district police office in each district where the election is to be held to coordinate with the campus where the election will be held and the necessary security mechanisms by appointing a contact person for the election.
"I have also instructed to form a team for election coordination at the police headquarters", the Home Minister said, "An environment has been created for the campus administration to coordinate with the security committee along with the chief district officer for the necessary coordination in the district where elections are to be held." Taking information about the election security from the Chief of Police, the Minister asked to take security arrangements as seriously as the general election.
