Five ordinances have been accepted by the House of Representatives. In the first meeting of the winter session of both houses of the Federal Parliament, five of the six ordinances submitted on January 18 have been accepted. After disputes arose within the ruling party and there was no majority in the National Assembly, the government did not put a proposal in the House to 'accept' an ordinance.
In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, the proposal to amend some Nepal Acts related to the promotion of good governance and public service delivery, to accept the Ordinance on Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility, Privatization and Improvement of the Economic and Business Environment and Investment Enhancement was passed by the majority. These ordinances were issued by President Ramchandra Paudel on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on December 29.
The ordinance to amend some of the Nepal Acts related to land, which came from the Council of Ministers to the President's Office, was issued by the President only on January 2. After controversy arose in the land ordinance, the government did not propose to accept it . President Paudel was interested in this ordinance when it was issued, but after reaching the parliament, the party that supported the government, Jaspa, Nepal, has expressed its opposition.
