Agni Kharel has been appointed as an expert advisor to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. A minister informed that UML standing committee member Kharel has been appointed as an expert advisor at the cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence Baluwatar on Wednesday.

Former law minister also  Kharel was previously appointed Attorney General during the Prime Minister Oli's tenure in 2074. Kharel, who was appointed Attorney General on February 8, 2074, resigned on March 6, 2077. He resigned after Prime Minister Oli was dissatisfied with the government's inability to properly defend against the dissolution of the House of Representatives in the Supreme Court. 

Kharel Oli of Jhapa Gouradah was the law minister in the government. Kharel became a Member of Parliament from the proportional quota of UML in the First Constituent Assembly, while in the Second Constituent Assembly, he was nominated by the Council of Ministers and made a Member of Parliament. Kharel has been involved in the legal field since 2042 and has also been the general secretary of the Bar Association.
