Two years after Pokhara International Airport came into operation, Himalaya Airlines is about to start its first commercial flight. Himalaya is going to fly to Lhasa, China from the 18th of Chait.

Himalaya Airlines has announced through a statement that it is going to fly connecting Kathmandu-Lhasa-Pokhara-Lhasa-Kathmandu. It is mentioned in the statement issued by the company that the flight schedule has been determined to connect Pokhara with Lhasa.

Himalaya Airlines has taken flight permission from the regulator Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAN) for the Lhasa flight. According to Can's information officer Gyanendra Bhool, Himalaya Airlines has requested flight permission to make the first 'scheduled flight' to Lhasa. The Lhasa flight process is in the final stage . 

Likewise, China's Sichuan Airlines will start commercial flights to Pokhara-Chhendu from Chait 5th. Prepared to fly. However, the process including permission to fly from CAN has not been completed . The airline has said that it is preparing to make one flight a week between Pokhara and Chendu. Society International is the official General Sales Agency (GSA) of Sichuan Airlines for Nepal.

Can's information officer Bhool expressed his belief that this flight will send the message that it is an international regular flight from Pokhara International Airport.

The air communication network is going to be expanded between Nepal's tourist capital Pokhara and the world famous "Roof of the World" Lhasa. Along with this, it is believed that Chinese tourists will increase in Nepal. Himalaya Airlines is currently operating five flights a week from Kathmandu to Lhasa. One more flight is going to be made from Pokhara to Lhasa.

'Himalaya Airlines has requested a flight permit to fly from Chait 18, the permit is in the process,' CAN information officer Bhool said, 'Kathmandu-Lhasa Pokhara and Pokhara-Lhasa Kathmandu are in the process of permission.'

According to him, the Himalaya Airlines plane will come to Pokhara from Lhasa on Monday and has asked for one flight per week from Pokhara to Lhasa on Tuesday. According to the demand, flights can be added in the future. He said that the flight date of Sichuan Airlines has not been decided yet. Sichuan Airlines has already conducted a test flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Businessmen are excited as there will be direct flights from Pokhara to various destinations in China. Taranath Pahri, Chairman of Pokhara Tourism Council, said that businessmen are excited about the direct flights from Pokhara to various cities in China. After two years of construction of Pokhara Airport, a regular commercial flight is taking place for the first time. This has excited the people of Pokhreli,' he said.

Pokhara Tourism Council has also made a package for tourists going to Chendu from Pokhara on the 5th of Chait . President Pahri informed that businessmen will come from Chhendu and tourism professionals will go from Pokhara to hold a Business to Business (BITUBI) program in Chhendu.
