An inmate in Sindhupalchok jail was injured while trying to escape in the earthquake this morning. According to the district police, Sindhupalchok, 33-year-old Syangbo Tamang of Bhotekoshi village-5, who is in custody in the district jail at Chautara, jumped from the second floor when the earthquake struck.
He fell and broke his arm. He has been discharged after treatment at Chautara Hospital in Tamang. "Furthermore, there is no report of human casualties in the district due to the earthquake, but the building of Kodari police office has been damaged by the earthquake, and a landslide has occurred in Tusare on the border," said Kiran Thapa, the chief district officer of Sindhupalchok.
He says that there is no risk as it is far from human settlements. On Friday morning, the residents of Bhairavkund, the famous Amachhyomen, from the border villages to the market, came out of their houses in fear of an earthquake again.
Chairman of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-3 Nimasona Sherpa said that although there was a dry landslide in Bhir located in Tusare here, there was no tragic incident in other areas. "The ruined houses here are more damaged, but there is no human and major damage," he said.
