Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba has urged the world community to vote for Nepal as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Deuba, who is in Geneva while addressing the 58th high-level session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, made this request to the ambassadors and representatives of various countries in Geneva.

Addressing the welcome ceremony organized by the Nepali Permanent Mission in Geneva for the heads of various countries and international organizations in Geneva on Wednesday evening in honor of Deuba, she urged Nepal to vote for the work done and achieved in the field of protection and promotion of human rights despite limited resources and means.

The head of UN permanent mission and ambassadors of more than one hundred countries in Geneva and representatives of various international organizations were present at the ceremony.

Deuba led a 6-member Nepali delegation to Geneva last Saturday. She is returning home on Friday morning.
