Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited and observed Pashupatinath Temple on Tuesday evening on the eve of Mahashivratri festival, 2081. Apart from performing puja and aarti in the temple, he also took information from the officials of Pashupati Kshetra Development Fund regarding the preparation and management of Mahashivratri.
Prime Minister Oli instructed to make the festival safe, disciplined, dignified and orderly and arrange the darshan easily.
Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey, Ministry Secretary Vinod Prakash Singh, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Rishiram Tiwari and others reached Pashupatinath temple with him. Devotees in the temple premises expressed their happiness at the Prime Minister's presence at the temple of Lord Pashupatinath, the worshipful deity of Hinduism.
On the occasion of Mahashivratri, a grand fair and worship will be held in Pashupati on Wednesday. All preparations for that have been completed. The District Administration Office Kathmandu has issued a notification and has prohibited the production, sale, transportation, storage and consumption of meat, alcohol and intoxicants within the four forts of Pashupatinath Temple from February 12th to 15th.
