Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada has demanded that national identity cards should not be made mandatory for senior citizens above 70 years of age while taking services from the state.
If national identity cards are made mandatory for senior citizens over 70 years of age, there is a demand for Khativada to be distributed door-to-door.
In Tuesday's meeting of the House of Representatives, Member of Parliament Khatiwada said that senior citizens are in trouble when national identity cards are made mandatory while providing services from the state. National identity card has been implemented nationwide. National ID cards should not be applied to senior citizens above 70 years of age,' Khatiwada said, 'if a situation arises to apply national ID cards for them, arrangements should be made to issue national ID cards in every ward of each municipality. The government should arrange for the concerned wards to go door-to-door and issue national identity cards.'
Similarly, Khatiwada has also demanded from the government to provide free treatment to those injured in road accidents. "Every now and then, people get injured in road accidents, they all arrive at the hospital in poor condition and the hospital incurs millions of bills and the rich don't pay for the treatment. I request the government to provide free treatment to all those injured in road accidents," he said.
