Linguist Chudamani Gautam passed away. According to family sources, he was born in Khamlalung (currently Atharai) of Tehrathum and passed away at the age of 81 on Monday during treatment in Kathmandu.

Being an activist of linguistic and educational upliftment, he was famous as 'Grammar Guru'. He has made an important contribution in the standardization of Nepali language, topicalization of words and adjectives and creating a dictionary.

Chudamani Gautam, who is known as 'Gautam's English Grammar' from school level to university, has written more than one hundred books including grammar, spelling and dictionary.
