Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba and Switzerland's Foreign Minister Ignazio Daniele Giovanni Cassis had a bilateral meeting today in Geneva. A sideline meeting was held between Foreign Minister Deuba and Swiss counterpart Cassis, who was in Geneva to participate in the 58th high-level session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
According to Foreign Minister Rana's Secretariat, they discussed bilateral interests and mutual interests during the meeting. On the occasion of the meeting, Foreign Minister Deuba expressed her gratitude for the cooperation and goodwill of the Swiss government in the economic and social sector of Nepal as well as in the peace process of Nepal.
She has nominated Nepal as a member of the Human Rights Council from 2027 to 2029, a member of the Economic and Social Council from 2029 to 2031, and a temporary member of the Security Council from 2037 to 2038, and has also requested the Swiss government for support.
Similarly, she invited the Swiss government to participate in Nepal's efforts to involve the international community by making climate change, mountains and the future of humanity the main 'theme' and organizing the Everest dialogue program as the main theme.
