Nepal Police has intensified the search operation for people involved in various criminal activities. At the same time, 3,264 absconding defendants were arrested in January alone.
Most absconding persons have been arrested in this way from Kathmandu Valley. After the case has been decided by the court, the police searches and submits to the court those who are yet to pay the fine and imprisonment.
At the same time, the central spokesperson of Nepal Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya informed that those who were involved in various criminal activities and were absconding after being convicted by the court, were arrested by the police team assigned to search for fugitive criminals operating throughout the country.
Rs 23 crore 92 lakh 91 thousand fine has been collected from them . They are 672 years, 6 months and 23 days imprisonment. According to spokesperson Acharya, 527 fugitives have been arrested from Koshi province and 713 from Madhes province.
Similarly, 170 from Bagmati Province, two from Gandaki Province. 17, 583 from Lumbini Province, 55 from Karnali Province and 89 from Sudurpaschim Province. Nine hundred and three fugitives have been arrested from Kathmandu Valley and seven fugitives from different areas have been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The police head office has informed that they have been submitted to the court and have been sent to prison for payment of imprisonment from the court.
