Eight policemen and 4 protestors were injured in a clash between "No Cable Car" supporters and the police in Fungling on Saturday evening. A clash with the police took place at Birendra Chowk while the agitating party was holding a procession in the evening.
Navin Pomu, the leader of the protesting party, said that although some of his party were injured, it was not certain and some were detained by the police. Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma informed that the demonstration was going on till night and the matter of arrest was not confirmed. Police have informed that the injured are being treated at District Hospital and Tamor Hospital.
No cable car supporters who have been concentrated in Pathibhara Mukkumlung area since February 6 for the walk came from Kaflepati to the headquarters Phungling on Saturday afternoon.
