Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that there is no alternative to democracy. At the first session of the Far West Law Society held in Kathmandu on Saturday, the Home Minister said that democracy is the only alternative to democracy.
The current constitution has ensured democracy. Finding an alternative to it is pushing the country into crisis. Therefore, attacks on the constitution from all sides should be faced firmly,' he said.
Defense of democracy, protection of the constitution and strengthening of inclusiveness is the need of the day, the Home Minister said. He said that after analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the constitution during ten years, preparations are being made to amend the constitution. Home Minister Akbar pointed out the need to talk about parliamentary supremacy while amending the constitution. He says that law and policy reforms are the priorities of the government. He says that they are trying to make the Far West properly represented in all parts of the state.
