Congress is not a 'ba' party that throws out questioners: Mahamantri Thapa

General Minister Gagan Thapa has said that leaders can be openly questioned in Congress. He said that Congress leaders will not be expelled on the basis of questioning.

In the party meeting held in Salyan on Saturday, Thapa said that the Congress leaders can be openly questioned and the workers should counter the unnecessary accusations against the party.

'Party chairman, district chairman, may have got angry with me, mayor, municipal chairman, minister. You can express your anger with me inside the room, express it outside, you have the right to question the Congress leader,' said Thapa, 'We are not a party of 'Ba', who will throw you out as soon as you ask a question. We are a party with equal status.'

Thapa said that it is possible to criticize and question each other in the Congress. "However, even though you are making unnecessary accusations against our house, faith, and temple Congress, if you do not go to retaliate because of the leader's anger, your faith may be questioned," said Thapa. Thapa asked the workers not to do anything that would damage the party due to the anger of the leader.

UML President and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expelled party leaders who questioned him. Oli is referred to as 'Ba' in UML. Although he did not mention Oli's name, Thapa said that Congress has democracy and the right to question.

Similarly, General Minister Thapa said that the time has come for the party to take initiative for the country's foreign policy. He said that the foreign policy will be decided by consulting not only with the UML in the government but also with the parties outside the government.

Thapa said that since the problem has been at the center of debate in Nepal, now it should be changed and a solution should be sought.

Thapa instructed that the district committee of the Congress should complete the renewal of membership and the distribution of new membership within the next March. He also said that the leaders are spreading confusion about the Congress convention. Leaders are saying that the Congress convention will not be held during the 2084 elections. I request big and small leaders - don't create unnecessary confusion,' he said.

Thapa made it clear that the Congress Convention 2084 should be held before the election because the constitution, laws and party rules do not allow it.
