Officials of the Land Problem Solution Commission have made a commitment to solve land-related problems within three years. Commission officials made this commitment in the Madhes provincial level interaction with the stakeholders organized by the Commission in Bardibas on Wednesday.
"The current Commission will be able to provide land ownership certificates to all landless and unorganized residents within three years of its tenure," Central Chairman of the Commission, Hari Prasad Rizal, said in the program. For this, he said, the commission is now focusing on identifying the current land-related problems, prioritizing the works and amending the land-related ordinance. During the
program, the officials of the Commission said that the management of landless Dalits, squatters and unorganized residents is being thoroughly analyzed and work has been started on a schedule to complete it within three years. Jagat Basnet, an expert member of the Commission, said in the program, "We are focusing on the problem and solving it in a subtle way. We are continuing to identify the problem through open discussion and interaction. We have put the work into a schedule. Within three years, these problems will be solved. Landless Dalits, squatters and unorganized residents will all get land ownership certificates."
Likewise, the central member of the commission, Krishna Prasai, asked the district officials of the commission to focus on work according to the law, not on crowding and fees. Commission officials of all eight districts of Madhes province, chiefs of surveyors and land registry offices, land experts and leaders of the land rights movement participated.
