Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has claimed that the government has brought an ordinance to maintain good governance while creating a business environment in the country. He also said that only the power coalition of Congress and UML will not amend the constitution.
In a program organized by the Nepal Financial Institution close to the Congress in Bhaktapur on Thursday, the Home Minister said that the consensus of all political parties is necessary to review the strengths and weaknesses of the constitution.
Constitutional amendment will be done not only by Congress and UML, but consensus among all political parties will be sought . He said that the ruling party has agreed to form a working group for constitutional amendment. He said that the constitution will be amended through dialogue and cooperation with everyone.
'It has been 10 years since the constitution came into effect . What are the strengths and weaknesses of this 10-year constitution? Our goal is to identify it and amend the constitution and for that, amend the constitution by consensus among all political parties,' said the writer, 'Congress and UML have agreed to form a working group for that . In a few days, a task force will be formed and the work will begin . Congress and UML are not the only ones to amend the constitution . We initiate and bring all other political parties to an agreement on this through dialogue .'
The author said that the process of constitutional amendment will be carried forward by establishing cooperation between all political parties.
Similarly, the author says that the ordinance brought by the government recently will play a role in improving service delivery. He said that although no one had a different opinion on the contents of the ordinance, it could not be approved by the parliament due to the process. The IT sector is attracting the new generation now. The new generation is being shown the possibility here . We have recently brought an ordinance to increase that possibility," he said. "We have brought an ordinance to make the business environment favorable, maintain good governance and improve service delivery. I don't see anyone taking a different view on the content of the Ordinance . Talking about the process itself, we have not been able to approve it yet. We will get it approved soon.'
The author said that the current power equation has been created to ensure good governance in the country while maintaining the stability of the government.
