6 members including the Chairman of the Maoist Center Chaurjahari Nagar Committee have resigned. The members along with Chairman Sundar Sharma submitted their collective resignations to the Vice Chairman of the Committee today.
Chairman Sharma announced through social media that members Lal Bahadur Kami, Parashuram Lamichhane, Bhadra Bahadur Budha, Asari Damai and Lalita Bista have submitted collective resignation letter. He has written, "We have a common opinion to build a strong organization united and active Chaurjahari Party". Maoist movement will not be allowed to bow under any circumstances. As a party member, I promise to continue serving the society.'
After Sharma was elected as the president from the third Chaurjahari city convention that lasted from January 13th to 17th, there was a dispute within the party. "According to the code of conduct of the election of the Maoist center, there was an arrangement to be elected as a representative from the respective ward for the city convention," Maoist district coordination committee coordinator Gobind Roka said, ' but chairman Sharma from Chowrzahari 13 and Lal Bahadur Kami ward no. He said that he was defeated in the election for the selection of representatives from 10 but was nominated to the city committee. He said that despite losing in the representative election, he was the chairman and member of the city committee and a complaint was filed with the election committee of the party regarding the inclusion of the nominees in the city committee. "They may have resigned so that the dispute over this issue does not last longer," he said.
In the resignation letter made public by President Sharma himself, it is said that a complaint has been filed against him in the Election Commission and it has not been resolved. District Coordinator Roka clarified that the concerned city committee has full authority to accept the resignation or not. The city committee will decide on the next steps. We (district coordination committee) have no role in this,' he said.
