The Ministry of Education has warned that the incident at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in the state of Odisha, India, will be stopped if the problem is not solved justly.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Shivkumar Sapkota, issued a statement on Tuesday and said that the NOCs being provided for studies in the universities and educational institutions of Odisha state can be stopped. The Ministry has also established a help room to help students who are in trouble there. It is mentioned in the statement issued by the ministry that the class was established under the leadership of the deputy secretary of the ministry.

The ministry said that it has drawn its attention to the mysterious death of Prakriti Lamsal, a student studying at the university, and the behavior towards Nepali students. "The behavior of the university administration against the students is reprehensible, contrary to the universal belief that students are allowed to study by following the rules determined by the respective universities and paying the fees as per the rules," the statement said.

The Ministry has requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take diplomatic initiatives as soon as the incident becomes public. The Ministry has drawn the attention of the Government of India to make arrangements for the resumption of KIIT teaching and learning, taking into account the fear, confusion, and psychological effects that may arise among thousands of Nepali students studying in Indian universities.

Lamsal, a B-Tech third year student, was found dead in the hostel on Sunday evening.
