Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and Foreign Minister of Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Araghchi had a meeting today in Muscat, Oman.
A meeting was held between Foreign Minister Dr. Deuba and Iranian Foreign Minister who are in Oman's capital Muscat to participate in the 8th Indian Ocean Conference.
During the talks, Nepal-Iran relations and mutual interests were discussed. Also, on that occasion, Minister Deuba requested the Iranian Foreign Minister to take diplomatic initiative for the release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali youth who is under the control of the Hamas group.
Minister Dr. Deuba had a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi a few days ago asking him to take initiative for the release of young Bipin who is under the control of Hamas.
During the meeting held today, Foreign Minister Araghchi assured that he would raise the issue of Bipin's release with Hamas officials as a priority. He assured that he will do his best to free Nepali youth Bipin from Hamas.
The government of Nepal is continuing its diplomatic initiative to free Bipin, who was kidnapped by Hamas in October 2023. In this regard, Minister Dr. Deuba had made this appeal to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar just yesterday.
For this, the government of Nepal has been continuing its diplomatic efforts since last year. Minister Dr. Deuba is taking diplomatic initiatives for the release of Vipin through the United Nations, international and regional forums and meetings.
