The meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday was adjourned due to lack of quorum. In the meeting, the proposal to consider the amendment bill to the Nepal Citizenship (Second Amendment) Act, 2081 could not be passed.

While presenting the proposal to consider the bill for decision, the number of parliamentarians should be at least 69. It is not enough.

When Speaker Devraj Ghimire was about to present a proposal for consideration of the bill, opposition RSVP whip Nisha Dangi demanded to ensure the quorum. According to Article 94 of the Constitution, the quorum is certain. She demanded to do. In that article of the constitution, there is a provision that no question or motion shall be presented for decision unless one-fourth of the total number of members are present in the meeting of any house of the parliament.

After the question of the quorum was raised, the Speaker rang the bell for three minutes to count. The speaker adjourned the meeting after it was found that the number of MPs present in the meeting was only 68.

After RSVP whip Dangi demanded to ensure the quorum, the ruling party MP tried to stop him . The MPs of the ruling party said that the quorum was not reached as the MPs of the opposition left. In response, Dangi said that it is the responsibility of the ruling party to reach the quorum. She replied that why the quorum was not reached in the house with almost two-thirds of the government.
