The Director General of the Customs Department and Internal Revenue Department, which are important areas for revenue collection, have changed. According to the list released by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday evening, 14 joint secretaries were transferred and the head of the revenue department was transferred and changed during division of duties.
Mahesh Bhattarai has been transferred as Director General of Customs and Madan Dahal as Director General of Inland Revenue. Both of them were working in the Ministry of Finance. Dahal was the head of Artha's administration and Bhattarai was the head of the planning monitoring and evaluation division and spokesperson. The Council of Ministers transferred Customs Director General Harisharan Pudasaini and Interior Director General Ram Prasad Acharya on Monday. Both of them were transferred 6 months after becoming Director General.
Bhattarai, who has been transferred to the Director General of Customs, is seen as an expert on finance. Before this, he has worked as the Chief Administrator of Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office and National Planning Commission. Dahal previously worked as Director General of Revenue Research Department and Foreign Employment Department. Dahal was returned in October 2078 for giving the responsibility of Director General of Revenue Investigation in three months.
The Ministry has transferred Mahesh Baral, Chief Customs Administrator of Tribhuvan Airport, to the Head of the Financial Federalization Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance. The airport chief is vacant. Internal Revenue Department Deputy Director General Seventak Pokharel has been transferred to the Finance Ministry Financial Management and Coordination Division Head and Gopi Krishna Koirala has been transferred to the Public Debt Management Office Head.
Shobhakant Poudel, the head of the Public Finance Management Training Center, has been transferred to the head of the Economic Policy Analysis Division of the Ministry of Finance. Paudel was sent to the training center six months ago by the director general of the customs department. He is also considered to be one of the experts in finance.
Tirtharaj Chiluwal, who has a background in finance, has been transferred as Deputy Director General of Internal Revenue. He was brought to the Ministry of Finance by the Chief District Officer of Makwanpur. Than Prasad Panjani, head of financial federalism coordination division, has been transferred to the head of administration division. Mahesh Acharya, Head of Artha's Economic Policy Analysis Division, has been transferred to the Public Finance Management Training Center.
Parvati Aryal, who has been transferred from the Women's Commission, has been given the responsibility of Chief Customs Inspection Administrator, Head of Post-Customs Inspection Office (PCA). Yamuna Pradhan, Deputy Director General of Customs Department, has been transferred as Joint Controller General of Accounts. In his place, Amrit Lamsal, who was the head of the Public Debt Management Office, has been transferred as the Deputy Director General of the Customs Department.
Joint Controller General Shyam Prasad Bhandari has been transferred to the head of the monitoring and evaluation division of the Ministry of Finance. Information technology expert Shrichandra Sah has been transferred to the Internal Revenue Department. He was brought to Artha from the additional group of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
Earlier on Monday, the Cabinet had transferred 17 joint secretaries. During the transfer, some joint secretaries were sent outside the Ministry, while some were brought into the ministry from outside. During the transfer, the economist was sent to a remote location.
