Maoist deputy general secretary and former finance minister Barshman Pun has said that his party will fight alone in the upcoming 2084 elections. Speaking on Thursday on the occasion of the 30th People's War Day organized by the Dilkaji-Thulkaji Memorial Foundation in Diktel, Pun said that the Maoist alone will win the election as the people have turned out like in 2064.

He opined that no one should underestimate it as the current achievements have been achieved through people's struggle. "People's war has reached the main mechanism of the country by ensuring the rights of women, Dalits, tribes, etc.," he said, "Nobody can underestimate it." "All the communists could have united, but unity is not possible because of the UML president KPG, instead there is a possibility of unity with the United Samajwadi Party in terms of tactics and direction. Since Biplavaji also came with us tactically, there is no problem in being united with him," he said.

Pun also opined that the communist movement is not possible in the old style. "Vaidya is a leader we also believe, but his old style no longer works, so the next communist movement is not possible," was Pun's opinion.  In the

program, the families of 72 martyrs who lost their lives during the conflict, full-time Maoist fighters during the people's war, and those who were jailed for supporting the Maoists were honored.
