Nepal has been included in the list of countries where corruption is high this year as well. According to the 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) published by Transparency International (TI), Nepal is among the countries with widespread corruption.

In CPI 2024, Nepal has been given 34 points

34 out of 100 . Out of 180 countries, Nepal ranks 107th. In CPI 2023, Nepal was ranked 108th with 35 points.

 Chairman Sharma says that although the constitution of Nepal has been implemented since 2072 and the three-level government has been operating, even though it has been almost eight years, no success has been achieved in reducing corruption in Nepal. He says, 'It is imperative to improve this situation, for which it is necessary to increase the commitment to ethics in the political sector, take fair action against bribery and corruption in the government sector, ensure a clean judicial process and take effective steps to control corruption related to the commercial sector.'

Denmark is the country with less corruption

In this index of 180 countries, Denmark  It has achieved 90 points for 7 years and is the country with the least corruption in the world. South Sudan has been ranked as the most corrupt country this year with a score of 8. A score of 100 on the index indicates very clean and a score of 0 indicates very corrupt . In the last 5 years, 7 countries have achieved significant progress in the Corruption Perceptions Index.

In 2024, two-thirds of the world's countries scored less than 50 out of 100 . The average score of the 180 countries surveyed has remained at 43 this year. Low scorers include weak and conflict-affected countries. Even the countries that are active at the international level regarding climate change, which is a matter of global concern, have received low scores in the corruption concept index survey.
