This day is celebrated every February 7th to commemorate the historical day of establishment of democracy on February 7th, 2007 . This year, on February 6, 7, and 8, Diwali will be celebrated in Nepal and abroad in Nepal, diplomatic missions and consulates, and on February 7, the main program will be held at the Nepalese Military Forum, Tundikhel. Addressing the
meeting, Prime Minister Oli asked to celebrate the historic day when Nepali people's sacrificial struggle defeated autocracy and regression that oppresses the people, shows naked and hepaha tendencies. 'This day should not be celebrated as a formal day to be celebrated only according to the above orders. It should be prepared by making it a people's program,' Prime Minister Oli said, 'This is the day that will bring the biggest change for the country.' There are those who prefer to call the violence as People's War Day, but there are elements who do not like to accept that change. Disobeying Democracy Day cannot be democratic. This day should be celebrated with grandeur.'
