Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has emphasized that the policy of agriculture-based industrialization should be adopted along with the increase in agricultural production for the development of a self-sufficient economy.
At the third plenary meeting of the Central Committee of All Nepal Farmers' Federation (Revolutionary Centre) held here today, he said that the path of industrialization and growth in agricultural production should be followed from the local level.
'The journey of socialism should be carried forward from the local level by making agricultural production the main basis,' President Dahal said, 'We should focus on increasing employment through the growth and processing of local production and the establishment of small industries.' For that, he said, the representatives of the local government who won from his party were gathered and arranged for training on the practice of socialism.
When making the budget for the current financial year, they made a program accordingly considering agriculture as the base and information technology as the backbone of the economy. But he accused the current government of breaking the budget.
