A fire broke out in the Ministry of Water Supply this morning, causing damage worth around 5 million.
Two televisions, a desktop, a computer, water heating machine, table, sofa, chairs, carpet, closed circuit camera monitor and other materials were burnt in the fire in the office of Water Supply Minister Pradeep Yadav.
According to Ramakant Duwadi, joint secretary of the said ministry, there has been a loss of Rs 40 to 50 lakhs in the office of the minister. However, the actual details of the damage have not been received. The cause of the fire has not been determined. The police are investigating. There was no damage to the documents of the ministry due to the fire.
Three rooms including Minister Yadav's office have been damaged in the fire. In the building of the Ministry of Water Supply, there is also the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
