The 16th meeting of the Medical Education Commission held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and Chairman KP Sharma Oli discussed the issue of providing government-like (eighth level) subsistence allowance to resident doctors studying in private medical colleges. .
In the meeting of the commission held at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, Singhdarbar, based on the discussions with the related parties and the reports received, a proposal was made to maintain the same facility of the resident doctor (Rs 48,700 per month). After further discussion on this matter, it has been concluded that a decision will be taken at the meeting of the commission soon. In the

In the situation where post-graduate level students are continuing their agitation for equal facilities and even the commission exams are being affected, the initiative to solve the problem has been initiated by Prime Minister and President Oli. meeting, the President of Private Medical College Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gyanendraman Singh Karki asked to make a decision after making the procedure. But Prime Minister Oli, co-chairmen of the Commission, Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel and Education, Science and Technology Minister Bidya Bhatrai made it clear that they cannot back down from the commitment of providing equal facilities to resident doctors.
In the meeting of the commission, which is doing the work of integrated regulation of medical education, monitoring, conduct of entrance examination, the number of student seats in educational institutions and the determination of tuition fees, there was also a discussion about starting the necessary amendment process in the National Medical Education Act, 2075.
