In the Sahara Chitwan Multi-Purpose Cooperative fraud, a supplementary charge was filed against 15 more people including former Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane in the Chitwan District Court on Tuesday. Court information officer Amrit Bishwakarma informed that a case has been filed in Chitwan district court against former DIG Chabilal Joshi along with Lamichhane.

In the indictment, it is mentioned that Lamichhane took money from the cooperative organization apart from the salary. "It is confirmed that he is directly involved in fraud by paying various individuals and organizations," the indictment said.

A case has been filed against 17 people in the Sahara Cooperative fraud on October 8, making Gitendra Bahadur (GB) Rai, the founder of the co-operative, the main accused. On the same day, Public Prosecutor Shanti Prasad Luitel instructed the Chitwan Police to conduct further investigations into the Gorkha Media and other companies where Sahara Chitwan's funds were found to have gone. Lamichhane is the then shareholder, director and managing director of Gorkha Media. Lamichhane, who is currently suspended, is also the winning MP from Chitwan-2 in the House of Representatives election.

Additional defendants include Ram Bahadur Khanal, Ravina Rimal, Vishal Tamang, Naveen Achami, Kavita Tamang, Deepak Lama, Ashraf Ali  Siddhiki, Bhagwati Bamjan, Lakshmi Prasad Paudel, Vigyan Rai, Netrapani Banstola, Shiv Bahadur Gurung and Pragathi Shrestha are there.
